So we’ve been photographing weddings for about 7 years now..almost 100 weddings. We’ve shot weddings, in Natchitoches, Hattiesburg, Biloxi and of course New Orleans and then plenty of weddings in the Mandeville area where we live. We truly get excited for every wedding we book, and are extra excited to photograph weddings at new locations..but when we booked a wedding in Fort Worth, Texas..we were TOTALLY pumped! Our first TRUE destination wedding that we’d have to fly in an airplane and stay at a hotel, and the perfect Kristin and Heather getaway! As most of you know, Heather and I have been friends for about 20 years (wow that makes be feel super old!) We were pregnant with our first kids together..and have since added FIVE more kids to our crew..(yup 7 kids total between both of us!) So a little work getaway where we’d get to be creative, spend some bestie time together and refresh ourselves a little bit from our busy lives as moms was something we looked forward to for over a year when Lauren and Patrick first booked us for their wedding!
We had an early morning flight so we had to get up super early..thank God for Starbucks cause we sure keep them in business! But despite and early morning, we hit the ground running in Fort Worth and did and saw as much as we could during the short time we were there! We found the cutest little Texas park and took advantage of its beauty for an impromptu photoshoot doing headshot of each other. Then, we went to the Fort Worth Stockyards! Longhorns and REAL cowboys! So cool and so different from what we have in Louisiana ha! After a bite to eat and a quick nap, we got to work that afternoon scouting out locations for our bride and groom for the following day. The Water Gardens are really beautiful as is all of downtown Fort Worth. Since we were staying right in the middle of downtown, we were walking distance restaurants, beautiful sites, and of course..STARBUCKS! It’s kind of a Kristin and Heather tradition that we drink our Starbucks before every wedding
Our wedding the following day was amazing! To see Lauren and Patrick’s beautiful wedding click HERE! It makes our heart so happy to be allowed to document someones love story and to be a witness to true love. Lauren and Patrick thank you so much for allowing us to be a part of your wedding and to loving us enough to fly us out to do so! We love y’all and LOVED yalls wedding!
So our first destination wedding was a success! We accomplished everything we’d hoped to! Best friend getaway doing what we love, being able to be creative and coming back refreshed to our children and husbands. So where to next?!? We are looking for our next destination wedding! If you are planning a wedding out of state and love our work, lets chat! We would love to come to you and document YOUR love story! Italy anyone?
