Don’t worry if your Cajun French is rusty: “laissez les bon temps rouler” (pronounced “Lay-say le bon tom roo-lay”) just means “let the good times roll” and that is exactly what Matt, Shelly and their guests did on the the evening of September 30th, as they united under the beautiful New Orleans skies! The new Mr and Mrs McDermott and their guests came all the way from Cleveland, Ohio to celebrate two becoming one! One of my favorite moments was during the First Look, when Matt was “oohing and awing” over Shelly, and how beautiful she looked in her wedding dress! A first look, always make the rush of the wedding day, just a tad bit slower because we allow that time for that moment to be taken in! We then were able to take advantage of the sights and sounds that New Orleans brings and we stepped outside the hotel, Maison Dupuy, and took several formal shots of the bride and groom. The ceremony was timed perfectly, about an hour before sunset and took place in the courtyard. After pronouncing the new Mr and Mrs McDermott, a traditional second line band lead the guests through the streets of the French Quarter, before heading back into the reception. The dancing continued the rest of the night until sadly the first day of marriage for Matt and Shelly came to an end!
Matt and Shelly, we hope our city brought you many new memories and may you come back and visit for an anniversary or two! We wish you the best and a lifetime of happiness!
Kristin and Heather
