Caitlin and Cody……let me just start off by talking about Caitlin. I met Caitlin about 4 years ago when she came into our family’s life and was my saving grace! Cailtin was our nanny for the triplets. She was the only other person besides family who I trusted and knew would be able to take on just as much as I could and even more. She spent hours at our house, playing, feeding, folding, and stuffing HUNDREDS of cloth diapers. Over the time she spent with us, she had always told me she just wanted to get married and be a mom. She wasn’t dating at the time and I just tried to encourage her that God’s timing is always perfect timing……which brings us to last year when she called me out of the blue to describe her whirlwind of dating and engagement to Cody. Caitlin got right on top of her wedding planning and basically was just waiting for the day for her to marry “her man”. We planned their engagement session in December and had to reschedule due to the weather, which was one of the coldest days in January!!!!!! I knew with all the rescheduling issues and terrible weather we dealt with, we would be destined to have perfect weather on her actual wedding date, March 3rd, and boy, was I right!!!! That day was a beautiful 70 degree day with not a cloud in the sky! Caitlin and Cody chose The Southern Hotel, a historical hotel in downtown Covington. This easily tops as one of our favorite locations for brides and grooms to get ready. The suites are large, have LOTS of natural light, they are bright and airy, with plenty of character, right down to the exposed brick walls. We walked into the suite with a very calm and collected Caitlin, who was getting “dolled up” by the very talented Heather from Flawless Bride. Beautiful job ladies!
Caitlin was a very smart bride in choosing to do not only a “First Look” with her groom, but also with her dad. ALL formal pictures were done in the beautiful sunny daylight and allowed the couple to really relax and take in the ceremony and take full advantage of the reception. I mean, look at those Bride and Groom formals……STUNNING- the light was beautiful, and it certainly wouldn’t have had the same effect after sunset.
The ceremony took place in the outside courtyard, with the most beautifully decorated floral decor on the fountain. Janet, from Petals and Stems, did the floral arrangements for the wedding, not only was every centerpiece and bouquet perfect, but the dedication Kelly had in decorating the fountain. She got IN the fountain with her jeans on to decorate!! I loved it!!! The ceremony was filled with laughter and happy tears from the couple themselves, to both sets of parents, and the rest of the guests. After the Mr. and Mrs. said I do, all the guests followed them into the reception where it got wild and crazy with the help of DJ Aaron Lane. Lastly, the couple then said their goodbyes to friends and family as they had a bell and ribbon send off!
I can’t forget a huge shout out to the wedding planners, Christie and Nicole from Mis En Place Events, who were both very calm, smiling every time we saw them and always present! You not only made Caitlin and Cody’s day flawless, but you made our job super easy. And Alex, from Apercu Films, we have seen your work and can’t wait to see your final product of their wedding. We look forward to working with you all in the future!
